pNtNRAMP5
NtNRAMP5 is a gene in tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum) that encodes for a protein involved in the transport of manganese (Mn) and cadmium (Cd). It belongs to the natural resistance-associated macrophage proteins (NRAMP) family, which are integral membrane proteins found in various organisms. The allelic variation in NtNRAMP5 has been shown to be associated with differences in Cd and Mn accumulation among tobacco cultivars.
